Reed switch is an electrical switch functioned by an applied magnetic field. It is used to control the flow of electricity in a circuit. It is made from two or more ferrous reeds enclosed within a small glass tube-like envelope, which become magnetized and move together/separate when a magnetic field is moved towards the switch.
